Since the beginning of his artistic practice, Colensky has observed and documented his surroundings through photography, drawing, and experimental materials. For this project, the pavilion in Seefeld on the shores of Lake Zurich became his point of departure — a structure whose clarity, color, and precision strongly resonate with his own visual language.
Colensky works with spontaneity and bold, self-assured gestures. He plays with contours and omissions, deliberately leaving space for the viewer’s imagination to complete the image.
The exhibition brings together two groups of works: “Works on Paper” and “Acrylic Works.” The large-format paper pieces translate viewpoints from the hills surrounding the Lake Zurich valley, balancing looseness with structural rigor. The acrylic works employ transparent layers within a box-like form and invite viewers to shift their perspective and discover new relationships between line, color, and depth. Their dimensions reference an architectural system of proportions based on human scale, subtly influencing Colensky’s compositions.
