Since the beginning of his artistic practice, Colensky has observed and recorded his surroundings through photography, drawing, and experimental materials. For this project, the Pavilion Le Corbusier on the shores of Lake Zurich became his point of departure — a structure whose clarity, colour, and precision resonate strongly with his own visual language.
Colensky works with spontaneity and bold, confident gestures. He plays with contour and omission, allowing space for the viewer’s imagination to complete the scene.
The exhibition brings together two bodies of work: “works on paper” and “works on acrylic.”
The large-format works on paper translate viewpoints from the hills around the Lake Zurich valley, balancing looseness with structural intent.
The acrylic works employ transparent layers within a box-like form, inviting viewers to shift their perspective and discover new relations between line, colour, and depth. Their dimensions reference Le Corbusier’s Modulor system, a proportional approach that subtly informs Colensky’s compositions.
